In the summertime, when the weather is high………

This Thursday see's the longest day in the Northern hemisphere. The Summer Solstice is the almanac's 'official' start of the summer (it actually starts at 7.09 pm on the 20th). I love the summer – it is filled with great memories of kids playing freely, trips to the beach, clear skies, bbq's and warm weather.  The song in the video above just captures a lot of that for me (check out the lead singers sideburns and the glass bottle musical instrument – just classic!!). It is also the time for increased irritations from more bugs and pests.

Often when we feel great about our surroundings it is a good time to look ahead and set some direction. So I am going to just put a little bug in your ear, something to mull over on the longest day, after all you are effectively half way through your year.

Take a moment to look back over the last 6 months. If you took the time to set some goals at the start of the year, dig them out (I know you haven't looked at them as much as you should have been). Winter can be a less energizing time, bleaker weather, cold etc, maybe the mindset was not as strong then as it could be now.  How are you tracking versus where you said you wanted to get to in 2012?

Chances are for many of us we are not as far along as we would have liked or hoped. Well done to those that are.

The good news is it's not too late, it never is. Even if you have not even started, you can now.

Then flick forward to the next article and spend a little more time thinking about what you would like to get done in the next 6 months – Your Personal Brand Needs YOU! - think big, think bold, think audacious!

As Mungo Jerry says;

"In the summertime when the weather is high, you can reach right up and touch the sky"
