2011 promises to be a different year from the last two or three in a number of ways. In reading a number of predctions and outlooks it would certainly seem that networks are going to play an even bigger part than ever before.
A couple of recent employment and hiring surveys have identified that recruiters and hiring managers are going to be using the main social networks of LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to find their candidates.
I do not believe this will be any different for the happily employed either, many larger organizations already have their own internal versions of social networks and leaders are using these profiles to find their next stars. No longer will it be the tap on the shoulder or being called in to the bosses office, now it could be a connection from half way across the country or around the world.
So if you have been sitting on the fence as to committing some time to this it appears now would be a good time to start. You cannot leave one to chance either, all three have their uses and make sense for most people.
Lets start right now by networking with each other on all three, click on the links below or the logos at the top and we can connect on LinkedIn, friend on Facebook and follow on Twitter – I look forward to connecting with you.
