"Where there is love, there is life" – Gandhi
It would be interesting to profile Van Morrison in the personal branding process. Obviously a highly skilled and talented musician, but also firecely private and very unexpressive or emotional on stage – almost the opposite of everything you see in the music business today.
A couple of Fridays ago I surprised my wife for our wedding anniversary by taking her out and then managing to get her all the way to the entrance of the Molson Amphitheatre before she realised that Van Morrison was playing. It was someone we have a close tie to in that his music is something we both love and even had our first wedding dance to, also he hails from Ireland which is one of our favourite places.
We were actually in Ireland about 10 years when he was set to play in Dublin – unfortunately we were there to attend a good friends wedding and felt we might be missed if we went to the concert. Since then we have been waiting to catch him in Toronto or somewhere in the UK when we are back visiting.
The concert was a sellout needless to say and although his time on stage was fairly short to get to see Van The Man was worth the horrendous traffic and getting a parking space 45 minutes walk away!
