"And when it rains on your parade, look up instead of down. Without rain there would be no rainbow"
Gilbert Chesterton
We just had a long weekend here in Canada and as with many bank holidays that I remember from the UK this one was a wet one also! We had many inches of rain and with two young children you can go stir crazy in a house very quickly.
Luckily the weather cleared enough on Monday for us to take a hike to one of the many local waterfalls. With all the rain the falls were particularly flowing and spectacular and then we hiked along the Bruce Trail for a couple of hours.
Spring and early summer are such great times in Canada after what sometimes can be long winters. All the flowers, trees and bushes are starting over again. This served as a great reminder that the simple things in life can sometimes be the most rewarding. Fresh air, new growth and being with family.
