LinkedIn – every 3 posts (like clockwork) was a Promoted post.

Facebook (seems to be getting worse by the day) – every 3 posts was either a recommended profile, page or group or sponsored post.

You must get people off social media as quickly as possible and have them join your email list. 

Apart from the obvious of you controlling the message, email is the one address someone is never moving from, regardless of where they live!
