Lindy Nowak talks about the importance of having a clear idea of what you want your business (and brand) to achieve. You want to have the end in mind as this can help you streamline your processes and make your business more efficient.

That includes having a website you are proud to share and that reflects your brand.

It is important for businesses to have a website as it is a crucial marketing tool. This is especially true in the age of social media, where potential clients will check out a company’s website to learn more about them.

Most people don’t realize how much time, money, and effort it can take to get a website up and running.

Often they don’t update their websites (or even have one in the first place), often due to the perceived cost or difficulty of doing so. The increasing complexity of software like WordPress can be problematic for users who are not familiar with web design.

Alternatively, small business owners sometimes try to do too much themselves, including writing their own content, and this can lead to subpar results.

Lindy shares how to create an effective website, with the one-page scrolling format. There are a number of key elements you need to include.

10 Key Brand Elements Your Website Should Have

  • Start with a strong header message
  • Keep the amount of content on the home page to a minimum
  • Having clear messaging that is focused on making a sale, rather than being all about the brand.
  • Include a video on the home page so people get to know you.
  • Showcase a list of services,
  • Link additional content such as an Instagram feed.
  • It’s crucial to have beautiful imagery (that is legal!)
  • Don’t forget a professional headshot.
  • If you include a call to action (CTA) make sure that it is consistent and that it is placed in a spot where people will see it.
  • Test different lead magnets and see what works best for your website visitors.
